       {step on ball of foot}
       { - = heel down of last foot stepped }  
       Gents:  L R L - ; R L R - ; repeat 
       Ladies: R L R - ; L R L - ; repeat

         counted:      one, two, three, and
                       two, two, three, and
                       three, two, three, and
                       eight, two, three, and 
      (1). Clare Reel Step (a soft, scuffling reel step)
	   used in The Mazurka, The Plain Set, The Clare Lancers, and 
           the Caledonian.
